London Calling...

Last week I was in that London on a (non photography) business trip and on the off chance that in between meetings I might spy a photo opportunity or two I took my 'posh' camera along for the ride....

As will become fairly immediatley clear I was based in the Docklands for the duration of my stay and these locations lay in between my Hotel and the venue i was attending - not a bad walk to work!

I love the contrast of the derelict and abandoned spaces stood cheek by jowl with spangly new buildings - the warehouses of yesteryear replaced by fancy hotels (or in my case a travel lodge)!

As i meandered alongside the river I was moved to ponder how much longer these mills would be left to fall into decay....

Let's party like it's 1899! The amazingly dillapidapted 'Millenium Mills' I wonder what the people who built it would make of it's current state of repair? I also wonder what the Millenium Dome which is literally just round the corner will look like in a hundred years....

The above is Victoria footbridge - it is tip top of my list of favourite footbridges - not a huge achievment seeing as there is only one thing on that list so far but at any rate as foot bridges go, it's a pretty bloody good one, cool design and an amazing view to be had atop it.

I returned to my favourite footbride later on to feast on a brightly lit London skyline - not bad eh? I still wouldn't live there tho! :)

So i guess the moral of todays blog post is if you're travelling away somewhere its definitely worth lugging your heavy expensive camera along for the ride......or buy a phone withREALLY good camera.....
